Toxicokinetic and metabolism studies

In vivo phase: absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME)
Toxicokinetic and metabolism studies

Toxicokinetic studies yield information on how test substances (study compounds) are absorbed, distributed round the tissues, metabolised and finally excreted. They also shed light on any metabolites, the toxicity mechanism itself, and the target organs. Such studies are useful to assess the safety of the substance and the possible toxicity mechanisms in relation to dosage and chosen administration pathway.
